Design Bean Creations started simply with a love for being creative. I knew I wanted to make wooden signs for kids and families, and fell in love with scrolling. I had zero experience with any tools (including the scroll saw) other than occasionally hanging wall pictures or putting together a shelf. But as soon as I started woodworking, I knew I found my niche. I plunged in and never looked back. I love designing and creating the perfect piece for your home or kiddo’s room.

The name “Design Bean Creations” is a tribute to my family. “Bean” was a nickname my mom always called me and has now become the nickname I use for my kids. “Design” is because I like to create masterpieces from things I design on my own so that each piece is unique. The “creations” part should speak for itself in as they are the final product of what I create.

For my logo, the Sunflower is a part of me. I have always loved sunflowers and would have dreams about myself in a field of sunflowers which always warmed my heart. A sunflower can grow in any environment and condition and will always find the sun. Then, when I found the sunflower image that is part of my branding, my oldest daughter looked at it and said “look, it’s a mommy sunflower and a baby sunflower, just like you and me,” and I was sold. My kids are the reason for this business, so everything in my branding and logo reminds me of them. Lastly, every piece of my creations are touched by me hundreds of times so they are “lovingly handmade” which forms the circle around my company’s name.
